The European Journalism Observatory (EJO)
The European Journalism Observatory was established in the spring of 2004 as a non-profit center of the Università della Svizzera italiana with the support of the Fondazione per il Corriere del Ticino.
By studying and comparing trends in journalism, in the media industry as well as in media research, the European Journalism Observatory (EJO) builds bridges between the different journalism cultures across Europe and the USA, and it contributes to the improvement of quality in journalism. Its work is closely related to the needs of media managers, editors and journalists, thus reducing the gap between newsrooms and communications research.
